Tour Of Friendship with the New Giant Propel

At the beginning of May, Saint Cloud’s Nick and Ollie packed up their new Giant Propel road bikes and fresh Saint Cloud Race Suits, jumped on a plane and headed to Thailand to take on the Tour of Friendship with a group of close friends.

They spent a memorable few days racing through Thailand’s heat, climbs, and chaotic roads – long days in the saddle followed by recovery sessions in the pool, beer in hand.

The new Giant Propels proved to be the perfect weapon for the trip – fast, responsive, and built for aggressive racing – while the new Saint Cloud Race Suits finally got their first proper international outing.

What was the highlight of the trip?

Ollie: Just getting to go race bikes overseas with some of my best mates!

What did you think of your new Propel?

Ollie: It was my first proper hit out on the new bike and if i wasnt already in love with it, i defintely fell in love with it over there...light, fast, snappy, responsive... the bike was ready for anything... the rider maybe not 🤠

How were the roads in Thailand?

Nick: A match made in heaven with the Propel. The bike was so fast on the clean hot mix roads with rolling terrain.

How did they team go?

Nick: They rode really well and we managed to snag a couple of stage podium placings. We certainly stood out in the bunch in our SC Race Suits which were bang on - tight in all the right places, awesome pocket placement!

Performance Stats:

  • Ollie S3 breakaway 3rd place.
  • Nick S1 4th place from reduced bunch.
  • Adrian S5 solo break to make it over the climb with the front bunch.
  • Mason covering moves and protecting us all week long.
